When Oregon State University decided to undertake a major update their vintage WWII agricultural teaching facilities, they turned to Pillar Consulting Group to provide civil engineering expertise. This state-of-the-art teaching facility was the first building to go up amongst many in a large master plan, and required forward thinking when it came to utilities roadways.
When Tec Labs decided to build a new pharmaceuticals manufacturing facility on an undeveloped site in Linn County, they turned to Pillar Consulting Group, Inc. to lead the civil engineering design. The site was developed with an eye toward future expansion of this very successful, local company.
Combining the unique requirements of a top-tier university research and teaching facility with cattle handling, housing and processing needs demanded carefully listening to our client’s needs. The civil engineering necessary to develop this site included roadway improvements, stormwater quality considerations and coordination of multiple underground utilities.
Pillar Consulting Group provided civil engineering services to the contractor for several pedestrian bridge approaches and abutments on short notice to maintain a tight construction schedule. We worked with the prefabricated bridges and existing site layout to develop an economical solution that could be permitted and built quickly.
The Brooklane Heights Subdivision is Corvallis, Oregon required three, large underground stormwater detention vaults that would meet King County, Washington requirements. Pillar Consulting Group provided expert structural engineering to the subdivision’s civil engineer-of-record to produce the unique vault designs, one of which was over 8,000 square feet in plan dimension, and over 14 feet deep.
